Melanie Alappat

Melanie is a caring, enthusiastic physiotherapist. She strives to treat the underlying cause of an issue and prevent re-injury. Combining her in-depth knowledge of human movement with exercise, manual therapy, soft tissue techniques and modalities, Melanie can help. As an athlete, coach and now a parent of young athletes, she empathizes with the challenges and motivations of everyone involved in the rehab process.
She completed her Honors Bachelor of Health Sciences from Western University in 2002, focusing on health promotion. After teaching English in Taiwan, she completed her Masters in Physical Therapy at University of Toronto in 2005. Her love of travel and teaching led her to spend a year setting up a PT unit in The Gambia.
Being a PT for 18 years has given her the privilege of seeing people overcome obstacles and achieve their goals every day.
Physical activity, especially outdoors and in water, is one of the joys of Melanie’s life and something she loves to share with her beautiful high-energy family.
